What Is Colour Therapy?
Colour therapy is a natural method of healing which taps into the body's biochemistry and energetics to aid in their regulation, by means of application of various vibrational frequencies.
Colour therapy in its very essence is a very old form of healing which depends on a very basic element of our world, light. White light, that originating from the sun and other light sources, contains the entire spectrum of vibrational frequencies which we have come to call colours. When light reaches an object only one of these vibrational frequencies (colours) will bounce back - all the others will be reflected off. These colours which are reflected off are the ones which our eyes "see", and thus objects attain certain colours. We can think of every object as being a light filter.
Ancient civilizations, most predominantly the Egyptians, took this concept a step further. As we have just discovered all objects which we see as for example green, reflect the green vibration off their surface back at their surroundings. Thus if we are around a green object we would be affected by the green vibration which it is deflecting. The Egyptians placed people affected by certain imbalances (diseases) under large translucent, coloured screens through which sunlight was allowed to pass. The colour of the screen was attuned to the imbalance present in that person. This is one method of vibrational selection or filtration. Other methods of colour therapy have various other media which select the appropriate vibration from light, for example crystals, aura soma oils, coloured silks . . .
It is also possible to store vibration in certain neutral media such as quartz crystals and water. Quartz crystals are usually placed in environments of high electromagnetic noise, for example an office where there are a lot of computers, neon lights and air conditioners. All of these appliances emit variations of harmful electromagnetic radiation. Since quartz crystals are good at storing vibration, they will aid in "mopping up" this electromagnetic mess. Quartz can also have a different purpose. It is useful in watches because it can precisely store a vibration from the watch mechanism and transmit it back, thereby keeping very precise time. For example if it is irradiated with a specific coloured light for an amount of time, it can radiate back that colour for a while, until its reserves are depleted. It is only possible to do this however in an electromagnetically "clean" environment, and the crystal is only useful for a limited range. If you are too far from it, the energy it is radiating will not reach you.
Water on the other hand is more useful because it can be used as a far more powerful tool in colour therapy. It is one of the strangest, yet most common and most important substances on our planet. If irradiated with a specific form of radiation - in this case with light - its molecules can store the vibration of the specific frequency (colour) of that radiation. When we drink this "solarised" water it will circulate through our entire body, as water inevitably does, releasing the stored vibration along the way.
